Murrey Pound is located in the mountain of the Adirondacks in a Forest Preserve on rte 7.

Make sure you have good breaks on your car.

Voici l'étang avec un accès facile pour y accéder (gratuit). Pour les embarcations genre anneau de flottaison, canot, kayak.

Here is the access to the pound, very easy to go in (free). For float tube, canoe, kayak.

Achigan à grande bouche qui ma livré une belle bataille.

Largemouth Bass that gave me a good fight. 

Mon premier brochet avec une canne Tenkara. Elle c'est bien battu avec un bon saut.

My first Northern Pike on a Tenkara rod. She gave me a nice fight whit a nice jump.

Upper Fly Fishing Section 

Situé dans le petit village de Altmar sur la route 22 non loin du ''Fish Hatchery''de la Salmon river.

Cette section et très intéressante pour ceux qui sont comme moi, aime pêcher en sèche car a partir du 1 mai vous n'avez plus le droit de mettre de pesanteur sur la ligne ni sur la mouche...

Upper Fly Fishing Section

Located in the small town of Altmar on route 22 near the Fish Hatchery.

This section of the river is the best place for poeple like me that loves to do some dry fly fishing. 

On the 1 of may of each year, you are not allowed to put any weight on your line or on your flie.

La très renommée rivière Salmon dans l'État de NY. Tributaire du Lac Ontario, durant la grosse période de pêche qui se situe de octobre à avril on peut y retrouver du King Salmon, du Coho, du Steelhead, de la truite brune... 

The renowned Salmon river in the state of NY is a tributary of the lake Ontario, during the peak from october to april you can find some King salmon, Coho, some sttelhead, brown trout....

Il y a un sentier qui longe la rivière des deux côtés. 

Le printemps se réveille pour nous dire bienvenue et bonne chance :-)

La nature au levé du soleil peu être tellement fascinant, voici une preuve avec cette belle toile d'araignée dessiné par des gouttelettes d'eau.

The nature at is best at sunrise, look at this fantastic cobweb that is being drawn by the droplet.

En observation pour voir ou je devrais m'installer pour faire mordre ma cible.

Malgré la pluie, le froid, le vent, l'humidité rien ne pouvez m'arrêter pour ce, a laquelle j'étais venue chercher.

Observation of where I could stand in the river to make my target come to my flie.

Despite the rain, the wind, the cold weather and the humidity nothing could stop me of catching what I came to get.

Fini l'observation, je dois traverser la rivière, il y a un Steelhead qui m'attends de l'autre côté :-0

Ok time to go to work, I got to get on the other side of the river at any cost :-0

Qui dit que c'est facile la pêche....! 

Le courant était assez fort malgré qu'elle paraissait calme et paisible, les roches étaient très glissantes mais il faut faire ce qu'il faut faire pour aller capturer ce Steelhead si convoité.

Remarquer ou et ma canne, pratique d'avoir une canne télescopique, on a les mains libre.

The current was pretty strong despite that she was looking calm and peaceful, the rocks where slippery but I had to got thru to get to that Steelhead so coveted.
Look carefully where my rod is, that is the beauty of having a telescoping rod, your hands of free...

Durant des heures rien ne ce passait sur plusieurs différents modèles de ''Streamer'', l'eau était bien froide mais la vitesse était quasiment nul a 150 CFS. 

La température commençait à avoir des lourdes conséquences sur mon moral mais enfin la pluie arrêta et l'action commença a prendre forme avec une éclosion d’éphémères. 

Les poissons se sont mis a manger en surface alors j'ai mis cette Sakasa Kebari #10.

For a few hours nothing was happening on different model of streamers, the water was cool but the speed was almost dead at 150 CFS.

The temperature was getting a psychological tool on me but the rain stop before anything could happen.... 

Then the action started, the fish was going on dry fly, yahooo my favorite way to fish so I put that Sakasa Kebari size #10.

Voici le résultats tant espéré, une de capturé l'autre malheureusement échappé comme elle entrer dans le filet elle a donné un gros coup de tête et il arriva ce qu'il arriva....... bye bye.

Here is the final result, lost another one just before that one that was able to give a big head swing just as I was getting her in the net....... bye bye. 

Une des deux sortes du fameux Steelhead de la rivière Salmon avec sa couleur argenté, c'était de toute beauté.

J'ai rencontré une employé du DEC et elle me disait que tout les poissons avaient retourné déjà dans le Lac Ontario depuis au moins deux semaines, ils on jamais vue ça depuis 1997. 

Moi ça fais ma 4ème année que j'y vais et habituellement j'en vois partout mais la, pas rien, c'était désolant de voir ça mais avec le changement de température je suis sur que ce ne seras pas la dernière.

One of the two kind of Steelhead that we can find in the salmon river, the color silver of that fish was incredible, waht a beauty.

I meet a DEC employee and she told me that since 1977 they never saw that few fish in the river at that time of year. They was all gone back to the lake.

That was my fourth year on the river and usually I can see a lot of Steelhead everywhere but this year nothing...... 

No snow, no water

Berta, a vue pas mal de bouette en fin de semaine avec toute cette pluie qui ne cesser de tomber.

Berta saw a lot of mud this week-end whit all the rain that came down.

Mon séjour prend fin avec un bon lunch avant le départ pour la maison OUF...

Rivière Boquet river, ADK, NY

Quelle belle rivière la Boquet. Vous pouvez en tout légalité camper sur le bord de la rivière, toujours en respectant les lieux si vous voulez continuer à avoir ce privilège.

What a nice river that Boquet. You can camp just beside the river. Please if you want to be able to continue to have the opportunity that means if you carry it in you carry it out.

Son eau limpide font que nous devons y faire une approche très furtive. Mince à sa source non loin du croissement des routes 73 et 9N. 

The water is crystal clear, that means you have to do a sthealth approch. Slim at the source that is at the intersection of route 73 and 9N.

A l'intersection de la route 73 et 9N, converge la North Fork Boquet river et la South Fork Boquet river dont l'eau arrive des montagnes (Dix Mountain) elle est bien froide. Cette fin de semaine du 23 et 24 avril 2016 il fessait trop froid pour vraiment pêcher alors l'exploration fût de mise. Encore de la glace sur les rochers, les bottes-culottes craquer au fait qu'il avait une fine couche de glace sur le dessus et que dire de ma puise qui était complètement gelé dès que je sortais de l'eau.

At the intersection of the 73 and 9N, come together the North Fork Boquet river and the South Fork Boquet river. The water comes from the montains (Dix Mountain) it was very cold this week-end of the 23-24 of april 2016. My wader and net were frozen as soon as I step out of the water. So I did some exploration thjat the only thing I could do.

Ici nous sommes au pont sur la 9N sur la rue Scriber rd, si la pêche et pas bonne il y a de la marche au Mont Gilligan

Here were at the parking on the 9N on Scriber rd. If the fishing is not good you can always go and do some hiking at Mount Gilligan

Un changement de décor non loin du village de Elisabethtown. Elle est encore très accessible. La photo ne montre pas bien l'eau mais elle est claire comme un verre d'eau alors attention quand vous marcher dans ce genre de rivière car vous pensez qu'il y a que quelques pouces d'eau mais il peut y avoir quelques pieds d'eau!

Another change of scenery of the river near Elisabethtown. The river is still accesible for parking near the river. The picture doesn't show well but the water is so crystal clear, you can be fooled thinking there is just a few inch of water so be carefull.

Du stationnement tout le long de la rivière pour les pêcheurs sans problème.

Some parking lots a along the river for the anglers, that is nice.

L'ouverture de la saison dans l'État de NY fût un peu difficile car l'eau était pas mal haute et encore très froide. Malgré tout les truites étaient au rendez-vous.

Voici quelques endroits que j'ai exploré pour vous et pour moi, bien sur !

Opening of the season 2016 in the state of NY. The water was pretty cold and high but caught a few trout.

Here is a few spots I looked for you guys and for me :-)

Voici la Great Chazy river non loin du lac du même nom. La rivière n'ai pas trop large et l'accès y ai très facile. Le seul bémol c'est de faire attention a la saison de chasse car on y a droit de chasser alors soyez visible. 

Here is the Great Chazy river not far from the Chazy lake. The river is not to large and the access is very easy. The only thing is that it is in a Wildlife Management Area (Lewis Preserve) so be carefull if you go in the hunting season. 

La Crystal Creek qui et situé à quelques kilomètres de la frontière Canadienne. Le DEC ensemence 300 truites brune de 8-9 pouces. Il n'y a pas de stationnement attitré aux pêcheurs mais on peut quand même le faire sur le bord de la route. On peut la pêche que sur quelques centaines de pieds car le restant et très difficile à marché car trop de branches.

The Crystal Creek that is just a few kilometers from the Canadian border line. The DEC puts in 300 brown trout, size from 8 to 9 inch. There is no car pool so just be carefull when parking yourself on the border of the road. We can only fish it on a few hundred feet because after that there is to much branches. 

La King Brook, gros potentiel j'en suis sur. Il fessait trop froid et vraiment trop venteux quand j'y suis allé. Elle et a quelques pied de la Great Chazy river au sud. Le DEC ne mets pas de truites dans cette rivière mais comme elle est alimenté par la Germaine Brook et la Bullis Brook il devrait y en avoir. Elle est accessible par le chemin Jerusalem non loin du village Jerico. Elle se situe dans le ''Lewis Preserve WMA'' ce qui veut dire pas de problème pour y pêcher mais encore la attention quand la saison de chasse et ouverte.

The King Brook, pretty sure there is trout in that river. The DEC doesn't put some in it but she is one of the tributaries of the Great Chazy river and there is the Germaine Brook and the Bullis Brook that goes in it. You can get to the river by the Jerusalem road near the town of Jerico. She is part of the Lewis Preserve WMA, so be carefull when the hunting season is open.

Finalement, la dernière rivière que j'ai fais a mon ouverture de pêche et la North Branch Great Chazy river situé à 1 heure de la rive-sud de Montréal. Cette rivière et l'une des premières pêché car le niveau de l'eau baisse très vite. Le DEC y ensemence au dessus de 6,305 truites brunes et arc-en-ciel de 8'' à 15''. L'accès de cette rivière et très facile et il y a plusieurs stationnements pour les pêcheurs.

Finally, the last river I did at my opening fishing season is the North Branch Great Chazy river that is about a hour from the south shore of Montreal. This river is one of the first to be fished because the water is getting low very fast. The DEC are putting 6,305 brown and rainbow trout that are from 8'' to 15'' long. The access is very easy and there is a lot of parking for anglers.

N'oubliez pas de respectez les emplacements par le ''Carry-in Carry-out'' tu amène quelques choses alors ramène le !

Remember to respect the place where your going to fish, that means Carry-in Carry-out.

Rivière Boquet, dans les Adirondacks, NY. L'eau est cristalline et les truites brune d'une bonnes dimensions sont au rendez-vous. Cette rivière est un tributaire du Lac Champlain alors on peut y retrouver de la ouananiche à l'embouchure. C'est une rivière qui s'étalonne sur plusieurs kilomètres. Plus on va vers l'aval et plus la structure de la rivière change. À quelques reprises le fond deviens vaseux et inaccessible à gué. Il y a plusieurs endroits ou vous pouvez vous stationnez et elle est très facile d'accès.   

Boquet river, NY in the Adirondacks. The water is crystal clear and nice sizes of brown trout are wating to be catch & release :-). This river is a tributary of the Lake Champlain, so we can find some landlock salmon at the mouth of it. The bottom of the river can change from nice rocks and bolders to muddy. The Boquet river is really easy to access and there is a lot of parking for anglers. 

Rivière Delaware, Pennsylvanie. Cette rivière de renom mondial et très difficile à pêcher car elle est très large et c'est un flat. Si vous réussissez à capturer une truite vous aurez tout un combat car elles sont de bonnes dimensions. Elle est aussi reconnu pour être pêché avec des mouches sèches de grosseurs #18, #20 et #22. La température de l'eau et constante (environ 52F) car elle proviens de 2 gros réservoirs qui l'alimente. 

Note : Si vous avez votre permis de pêche de NY vous pouvez y pêchez car la rivière sépare les deux États alors ils acceptent un des deux permis.

Delaware river, Pennsylvania. This river world renown is hard to fish because she is large and it's a flat. If you catch a trout in that river, you will have a blast because they are big. The way that fly fisherman and fly fishing woman fish it is whit some dry fly size #18, #20 and #22. The water temperature is almost alway at 52F because it is a tailwater.

Note :You can fish whit your NY fishing permit because the river separate the two states. 

Plusieurs endroits dans les Adirondacks (États de NY) et l'État du Vermont vous avez accès gratuitement à des étangs et des lacs. Vous aurez en arrivant un beau stationnement et un ''board'' qui vous indiqueras la topographie du plan d'eau. Les chiens (ici sur la photo mon p'tit bonhomme Yo Quiero) sont acceptés partout et vous pouvez couchez gratuitement dans certains endroits attitrés qui sont quand même pas mal nombreux.

A lot of places in the Adirondacks (State of NY) and Vermont you have access to a lots of free pounds and lakes. You will have parking and you will find a board that will indicate the topography of the body of water. The dogs are allow everywhere (here you will see my little guy Yo Quiero) and you can sleep free of charge in certain places.
